On Friday June 21st, 2013, Hep B Free SCC in partnership with Hep B Free SF, The Asian Week Foundation, and North East Medical Services (NEMS) put together a press conference at THE NEMS Lundy Avenue location in San Jose to officially announce they will be providing free hepatitis B screening and testing services every Friday from 10am-12pm. There were over fifty people in attendance and representation from the Board of Supervisors, various elected officials from the State Assembly and Congress including Assemblyman Bob Wieckowski, Assemblyman Paul Fong, Congressman Mike Honda, AND THE CITY OF SAN JOSE.
We would especially like to thank former Assemblywoman Fiona Ma and San Jose City Councilmen Kansen Chu for taking time out of their busy schedules to come to the press conference to speak about the necessity of what NEMS is offering to the community. We hope other clinics throughout San Jose and Santa Clara County will follow in the footsteps of what NEMS has offered to the community and provide free testing and screening services. We would also like to thank KCBS News for interviewing Hep B Free SCC and airing us on the radio soon after. We would also like to thank Ding Ding TV for coming out and interviewing Hep B Free SCC as well as the piece on their show. In addition, we would also like to thank World Journal AND CHINA PRESS FOR THE ARTICLES ON US.
