The kick off served as the formal launch of a countywide initiative that seeks to unite community and medical stakeholders to promote awareness of hepatitis B.

Over 660 people from the Santa Clara County medical community, the Asian American community, and the community at large attended the campaign kick off. It was a truly eventful night featuring performances by the San Jose Vietnamese Student Association, Hiyas Philippines Folk Dance Company, 飞扬少年精英团 CPAA Youth Performing Group, and San Jose Junior Taiko Performing Ensemble. Many thanks for the inspiring thoughts from our honorary co-chairs Congressman Mike Honda and Assemblywoman Fiona Ma, as well as Dr. Jennifer Ong, County Supervisor Ken Yeager, Santa Clara County Health Officer Marty Fenstersheib, hepatitis B patient Sandy Shih Andrada, and Asian Liver Center Director Dr. Samuel So. Special thanks to our emcees, AsianWeek Foundation President Ted Fang and Asian Americans for Community Involvement President Michele Lew!
